There are a few things to know about gym machines before using one. The best machines are the simplest ones. Professional body builders don’t use any fancy machines with multiple purposes. The most complex a machine is the less it will be able to work the right muscles and the more likely it is to break. The best weight machines have very simple construction.
The best gym machines are comfortable to use. The hand grips or leg stand should be in positions that are natural and comfortable for the hands, arms and legs to perform at their maximum power without any uncomfortable tension or pain. The range of motion should follow the body’s natural movements and have a long range of motion to work the entire muscle.
Gym machines should be made of steel. Any other material is just not strong enough without being prohibitively expensive. Avoid cheap, gimmicky work out devices that are plugged on television by retired actors. A well built weight machine will last for a hundred years if kept well oiled and clean. They should be stable and easy to use.
